Closing the deal…

July 29th, 2009…a day that will live on in our minds as the day that the new Jesz family received the keys to their first house! And let me tell you, that day can’t come soon enough.

For starters we have been a little annoyed to say the least with our apartment complex. It isn’t the apartment, its the people around us. There are several kids in the area and they like to use the steps to our apartment as a hang out place. So every day when we walk in or out we have to spin and step around and over them. This gets tough when you’re carrying groceries, walking a puppy, or carrying the baby. (more…)

Credit Where Credit Is Due…

Like the title says I have to give credit where credit is due. This past weekend (Friday and Saturday for me) was pretty rough and I basically had a meltdown. It all started Friday morning when Toni and I woke up early to get ready. We were supposed to be going out with our realtor to look at some houses.

Eight in the morning rolled around and Toni woke me up since she was already awake with the baby. I rolled out of bed and grabbed a cup of coffee and sat down on the couch with her while Brody fussed. Shortly after I got a phone call from the soon to be ex-realtor. He was canceling due to rain even though it wasn’t raining that hard and also he had not made any appointments. I brushed it off even though I was upset and he rescheduled for Saturday at three. The Hunt is on!

 Well once again we are looking for a house. This time though we are on a mission. Everyone that remembers us looking at houses in Buffalo remembers our struggle to find something worth the money. We saw some nice ones but they were always out of our price range.

This time it is different. Yes we are still struggling with debt but the housing market it perfect for buyers and the low interest rates make it even easier. Not to mention that Charlotte is an up and coming young city and there are a lot of brand new houses that the builders need to get rid of. (more…)
